The #GayElderCircle honors #IndigenousPeoplesDay. The recognition of our nations First People is past due. The Gay Elder Circle seeks out the wisdom of all our elders. We have been fortunate to have a member share the wisdom from the #FirstNation.
The Gay Elder Circle has reached out to our Native American community by hosting an information table at the “Celebration of All Life and Creation Pow Wow” hosted by the #RedCircleProject. At the Pow Wow there is an sharing of knowledge and discussions of the role of Elders in our community.
“Live your life so that the fear of death can never enter your heart.
Trouble no man about his religion respect him, and his views, and demand that he respect yours.
Love your life, perfect your life.
Beautify all things in your life.
Seek to make your life long and of service to your people.
Show respect to all men, and grovel to none.
When your arise in the morning, give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength.
Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living.
If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault is yours.”
